The Event is a series of political thriller mixed with science fiction. The show was created by Nick Wauters for NBC.
The Event revolves around three plots: a computer programmer named Sean Walker, the newly elect President of America, and the extra terrestrial detainees of Mount Inostranka.

Sean Walker, played by actor Jason Ritter is a computer programmer who discovered one of the biggest conspiracy of the US government when his girlfriend named Leila Buchanan, played by actress Sarah Roemer, mysteriously disappear.
President Elias Martinez is the newly elect president of the U.S. who is portrayed by actor Blair Underwood. As the newly elect, Elias is surprised with what is in store for him to be discovered. He discovers the very secret facility of Mount Inostranka who detains extra terrestrial identities.
By the time the World War II was about to end, an unidentified aircraft crashed somewhere in the Brooks Range, Northern part of Alaska. The ship carried passengers from the outer space. Most of the survivors were detained in the mount Inostranka by the U.S. Government. The extraterrestrial being looks like humans. However, it is later on discovered that they have genetic difference compared to humans and that they age slower compared to ordinary people.
The CIA later on realized that there are other alien identities roaming around America who pretends to be a common person. The CIA also learned that the aliens plan to assassinate the current president. Later on, even agents inside the CIA were later on discovered to be aliens.

It is revealed by Jason Ritter that he is still trying to wrap up The Event Through a miniseries.
It was revealed from the resources that the NBC drama was cancelled earlier in this year but the rumors began to circulate that Syfy was considering ordering a short series or another short film to wrap up the show. It is reported by resources that a film is still possible.
It is confirmed by authentic sources that Ritter has shown interest to sign for the project yet he does not know of the current status of it. He is waiting for a phone call from the producers, Nick Wauters and Steve Stark to take him in the project officially as he is interested to finish the story that he started. He has talked to the other crew members and all were interested.
Ritter is presently on the new series of Parenthood and his co-star Laura Innes has recently joined the new season Awake.
